Matt Montgomery is the owner of Montgomery Financial Designs, an independent Registered Investment Advisor. The firm specializes in solving specific financial problems for qualified individuals and closely-held businesses by using integrated planning models. Montgomery Financial Designs currently manages over $ 38 million for clients in five states (as of December 31, 2009).

Matt began his financial planning business in 1982 after earning his B.B.A. degree in marketing from Texas A & M University in College Station, Texas. He holds the FINRA Series 6, 63, 7, and 24 registrations. Matt is also a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), earning the designation in 1992. He is separately registered with and offers securities through Royal Alliance Associates, Inc, an independent broker-dealer, member FINRA / SIPC.

Matt has taught his financial planning course,"Fiscal Fitness"^TM, for the Continuing Education Departments of Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas, Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas, Angelina Community College in Lufkin, Texas, and East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas.

Personal
Very active in his community, Matt was a member of the school board for the Jacksonville Independent School District from May 1995 to May 2004. He served as Board President from 1999 to 2002. A former college basketball official, Matt also counts sports broadcasting as one of his many hobbies, and has served as the play analyst for the Jacksonville Fight'n Indians football broadcasts since 1982. Matt is married to Kelly and they have two daughters, Morgan and Rachel.
